Please make sure this is a widget available on the lock screen. I don't know if that's the same or different as normal widgets.

This is a good idea -- in the meantime you should try adding the Siri Shortcut and connecting that to your Action Button. https://help.wave.co/en/articles/8771130-setting-up-siri-shortcuts
